The National Academy of Popular Music/Songwriters Hall of Fame celebrated its 27th annual Induction and Awards Dinner on Wednesday June 12 at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City.
This year's inductees include Charles Aznavour, John Denver and Ray Noble. Special Award recipients include Burt Bacharach and Hal David (the Jonny Mercer Award), Freddy Bienstock (the Abe Olman Publisher Award), Frankie Laine (the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award), Gloria Estefan (the Hitmaker Award), Sumner Redstone (the Patron of the Arts Award) and "Happy Birthday to You" by Patty Smith Hill & Mildred J. Hill (Towering Song Award).
