Zach Wilson (SESAC)

Abe Olman Scholarship, 2016

A native of Bermuda, singer/songwriter Zach Wilson had a calling for music at a young age. Growing up in a musically inclined home with his mother, a lead singer in the church, and father, a skilled bass guitarist, Zach’s calling to music was no surprise. He naturally gravitated towards songwriting as a teenager and developed a strong ear for unique melodies and harmonies at his alma mater, Oakwood University. Influences by legendary greats such as Diane Warren, Michael Jackson, David Foster, Jay-Z, and Sam Cooke (to name a few), have molded his electrifying contemporary urban sound.

Currently, Wilson is working with a variety of great talents spanning from jazz vocalist José James, up and coming teen sensation Jeffrey Miller, Sony artist Mack Wilds, and from the hit television series Power, r&b singer and actor Rotimi.  Aside from developing talent, Wilson has also collaborated with numerous notable hit producers such as the J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, Beewirks, The Monarch and Rock Wilder. Wilson is also in the process of recording his own EP entitled “Fall of a Man, Rise of a King”, due later this year.

Wilson says: “The project was inspired by the exploration of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and risking it all to fulfill ones greater purpose”. Safe to say the sky is not the limit for Zach Wilson, it is just the beginning.
