Born in Chicago, raised in Singapore, Shun is a fingerstyle guitar virtuoso, singer and songwriter. Upon moving to Boston, he was immediately named on the Improper Bostonian Magazine’s “Top 10 Local Acts That Rock” list and then went on to win the prestigious 2015 Boston Music Award for “International Artist of the Year.” Known for his unique and virtuosic style which infuses elements of Rock, Soul, Funk and Blues, Shun dazzles audiences from all over the world with his flamboyant technique, soulful vocals and hypnotic groove.

As one of this generation’s most dynamic and innovative performers he came to the attention of 27-time Grammy winner, Quincy Jones, who invited Shun to his house to play music for him. Shun earned accolades from Quincy who said of Shun: “You won’t believe your eyes nor your ears, Shun belies all stereotypes, all premonitions. I was simply blown away by both his soul and his science – his creativity and his uniqueness is astounding.”

Along with performing, Shun also performs as duo with rock harmonica legend, Magic Dick, one of the founding members of the platinum-selling J. Geils band, as well has his project “Shun & the Shunettes” who recently completed a successful tour of Southeast Asia.
