Laura Warshauer (BMI)

The Holly Prize, 2010

Laura has a distinctive sound and style, laced with familiar vocal flavors ranging from Stevie Nicks to Cyndi Lauper, Kate Bush to Imogen Heap, and she is far from just another female singer-songwriter. Her powerful vision is inspired by the live experiences of U2 and Bruce Springsteen. With her big blue eyes, dark hair, pixie cut, and diminutive stature, one would be shocked at the powerhouse voice and indomitable spirit that is the essence of Laura Warshauer, both onstage and off.

Whether she’s singing and playing in a smoke filled bar in front of 50 diehard fans on Bleecker Street, or opening for Jakob Dylan and Augustana at the Fillmore in front of 1000 people, Laura has that rare quality very few artists possess. She makes every person in every audience feel as if she is singing just to them. Most recently, she was approached by UK Harper Collins author Polly Courtney about writing Laura into her latest novel “The Fame Factor,” to be released Summer, 2010. A joint book-music tour is currently in the works for the UK. There are many more deals and opportunities for Laura in the works, and there’s no doubt you’ll be hearing her name and listening to, and loving her music for many years to come, so tighten your seat belts and get ready for an amazing ride!
