Emily Warren (BMI)

Abe Olman Scholarship, 2013

Emily Warren, born and raised in New York City, first fell in love at the age of 10. Lost and confused, she discovered that the only way to cope was to sit down and write a song. For five years, Emily continued to write, and by the time she had entered high school she had written and released several songs. Shortly afterward, Emily put together a band called “Emily Warren & The Betterrs,” and together they performed in and around the city for three years.

Now a sophomore at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in the Clive Davis Institute, Emily is shifting gears and returning to her love of writing and collaborating with hopes of continuing to grow and progress as a songwriter. She is a prolific composer of music and lyrics whose tunes reflect influences from genres including Pop, Jazz, Hip-Hop and Reggae. Emily is an extremely talented and ambitious individual that knows no limit and dreams of one day traveling to space.
