Ben Howard (ASCAP)

The Holly Prize, 2013

Lauded British singer-songwriter Ben Howard continues to bask in acclaim from his breakout year, winning two Brit Awards for Best Male Solo Artist and Breakthrough Act for his debut album Every Kingdom. The album, now certified Platinum in the U.K., garnered attention with the The New York Times hailing, “Howard’s songs…cascade from his fingers, gathering words and melodies as they go, carrying his reedy, tremulous voice as their crescendos surge,” and NYLON Guys admiring “a mélange of intricate acoustic guitar work and sweet, hum-along choruses.”

The musician’s celebrated live performances have resulted in back-to-back sell-out tours, both overseas and stateside. In the past year Howard appeared at various festivals worldwide, such as SXSW, Sasquatch! Music Festival, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Austin City Limits, and recently supported the east coast leg of Mumford & Sons’ February run. He is now set to perform at Lollapalooza and Central Park SummerStage on July 29. Of his live set, KCRW notes “[he] has the audience in musical awe.” The video for his current single “Keep Your Head Up” can be streamed/shared at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADP65wbBUpc.
