Abe Olman Scholarship, 2006

Annie has also received a Backstage Bistro Award for Songwriter of the Year and a MAC Award for Outstanding Special Musical Material.  Her song, “Child In Me Again,” was recorded by Kathie Lee Gifford for her CD Born For You (2000), which hit three Billboard charts:  #1 Heatseekers, #6 Contemporary Christian and #139 Billboard 200.  Gifford performed Dinerman’s song on the Rosie O’Donnell Show and in a sold-out engagement at Rainbow & Stars in New York. “Child in Me Again” was recently recorded by Cybill Shepherd. “Christmas Is a Homemade Holiday” (lyrics by Annie Dinerman, music by Ned Ginsburg) was performed by Kathie Lee Gifford on her CBS-TV Christmas special.  The late singer Nancy LaMott championed Annie’s writing and performed her tunes many times. Three of Annie’s best-known songs, “The Lady Down the Hall,” “Child In Me Again,” and “Earth and Sky”, are still finding new audiences around the world through LaMott’s cherished CDs.  Ms. Dinerman’s songs are included in four songbooks: The Annie Dinerman Songbook (Helene Blue Musique), plus two collections of Christmas songs (Hal Leonard) and Contemporary Cabaret (Hal Leonard).
