Anika Paris is a Los Angeles–based singer-songwriter, composer, educator, author, and artist development mentor known for her work across music, television, film, and live performance.

She is a CRIA double-platinum award-winning songwriter and recording artist who has released five EPs and licensed music through companies including Edel, Warner Bros., Warner Chappell, Universal/Polygram, and APM. Her music has appeared in television and film projects including Sex and the City, See Jane Date, Bounce, Wisegirls, Peripheral, Anthony Bourdain, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, So You Think You Can Dance, See Jane Date, composed the score for the documentary The Light Years, and more...

Her honors include the Abe Olman Scholarship from ASCAP’s Songwriters Hall of Fame, a CRIA Platinum Award (Canada), and a HOLA Award for Best Music in a Musical and International Latino Book Award.

As an educator, she teaches songwriting, stage performance, and artist development through UCLA Extension Entertainment Studies, the GRAMMY Sessions Program, and Musicians Institute.

She is also the author of two music education books published by Hal Leonard — Making Your Mark in Music and Five Star Music Makeover .

A poet, she co-authored a three-generational poetry collection Woven Voices (Scapegoat Press), alongside her mother, Gloria Vando, and grandmother Anita Velez-Mitchell. Her poems have also appeared in numerous periodicals and anthologies. She is honored to have her work included in NASA’s 2025 Lunar Codex Rocket Mission on a time capsule sent to the moon. 

Beyond performing and teaching, Anika advocates for songwriters and musicians through organizations as a voting member of NARAS/GRAMMYs and SONA.
