The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters held its annual Ivor Novello Awards in London on May 24. BACS chairman, David Ferguson, was on hand to to “pay respect to the craft of the songwriter and composer, whose work is the heartbeat of the music industry.” SHOF’s own 1989 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Quincy Jones was given the Special International Award and was there in person to collect his honor, as were Stuart Price, Alex Turner, Yusuf Islam, Scott Matthews, Norman Cook and The Scissor Sisters.
