Jon Auer, Donovan, Mary Gauthier, Glen Hansard, Kenna, Cass McCombs, Rhett Miller, Adam Schlesinger and Mike Viola, Alice Smith, The Slip, Martha Wainwright, Jimmy Webb, Matt White and Yerba Buena are slated to perform as part of the 2007 Tribeca/ASCAP Music Lounge from Tuesday, May 1 through Friday, May 4 at the Canal Room. The music lounge is produced by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and takes place during the Tribeca Film Festival, presented by American Express, which runs from April 25 to May 6, 2007.
In 2005, the Tribeca Film Festival and ASCAP created the Music Lounge as a place for filmmakers to interact with composers and songwriters, encouraging collaboration. The event is an intimate and dynamic showcase featuring live performances by emerging and established artists.
“The Music Lounge is part of the Festival’s continuing commitment to bringing filmmakers and musicians together in a creative environment,” said Jane Rosenthal, co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival.
