This 1 day intensive workshop held in a recording studio will focus on many aspects of the recording process as it directly relates to the songwriter. The goal of this workshop is to provide a better understanding of this process and will ultimately save studio hours and demo budget dollars while achieving the best results. Basic recording techniques—following a sound from a microphone to recorder to mixer to mastering—will be explained and demonstrated. The use of compression, limiters, EQ and effects like reverb and echo will be discussed. Each attendee will have a chance to sit behind the studio console and “mix” a song.
