“Stay Strong NY, We Love NY”

A new song / video by NYC public school students!

In these challenging times, everyone can use a little hope, and recently, New York City public school students stepped up, writing and recording their own anthemic "Stay Strong New York, We Love New York" song.

Made possible by an alliance with The NYC Department of Education, Office of Arts & Special Projects and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, The resulting NYC Song of Hope Project created an opportunity for the 1.1 million NYC public school students to collaborate virtually on a song during the 2020 lockdown.

They certainly delivered!

NYC Department of Education Director of Music Liz Guglielmo circulated the opportunity to schools and SHOF NY Education Committee vice chair Harold Stephan gathered the multitude of separate recordings submitted by participating students, editing the video together to showcase this truly uplifting and inspiring song.

"This kind of project speaks to the heart and soul of the Songwriters Hall of Fame's educational initiatives," SHOF NY Education Committee chair April Anderson said. "We are looking forward to our continued collaboration with the NYC Department of Education, and creating new ways for student expression in this changing world."
