Universal Music Publishing Group Sr. Vice President Jennifer Blakeman visited the SongHall Writers Workshop on Wednesday, October 28th. Jennifer shared thoughts on her own career path that now finds her overseeing and guiding the careers of some of today’s hottest songwriters like Ne-Yo. She listened to the songs of the workshop members and provided great insights into the craft of songwriting. The workshop members are working on their song projects as we continue the 8 week sessions with more guests to come.

“This Songwriting Business” workshop met on Halloween, Saturday October 31st. Workshop leader Marcy Drexler presented the “must know” facts
that every songwriter needs. In the afternoon the workshop was joined by special guest publisher Steven Scharf of Carlin America who listened to songs and discussed song placement opportunities in the music industry today.
