Our current SongHall Writers Workshop sessions were recently expanded into two groups due to the great interest and demand in our programs! These workshops are designed to help instill the foundations of songwriting through assignments shared weekly over the course of eight weeks. Special guests include record company A&R, music publishers, managers, attorneys, and hit songwriters to share their insight into the songs and the business of songwriting. The SongHall will be continuing this workshop series in the fall and will be announcing an upcoming schedule soon.
Songwriter Jeff Franzel Leads Workshop ‘B’
The SongHall welcomed Jeff Franzel as a guest instructor to our workshop. Jeff has written pop songs for such diverse artists as Clay Aiken, ‘N Sync, Shawn Colvin, Russell Watson, Hayley Westenra, Raven Symone and Taylor Dayne. Jeff’s songs have been featured on over 20 platinum albums in the U.S. and other countries. Currently Jeff has a song that Placido Domingo has recorded with lyrics adapted by Pope John Paul . Josh Groban recently recorded the song as a duet with Placido and it appears on Deutsche Grammophon Records.

American Idol’s Anoop Desai Visits Workshop ‘A’
Pop artist Anoop Desai is best known for his time as a finalist on the eighth season of “American Idol.” Anoop has appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Live with Regis & Kelley, Good Day New York, Inside Edition, and Good Day Atlanta. In print, he has been featured in USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, OK Magazine and countless other publications. [/url]; Anoop was recently in New York City as part of a promotional tour to support his just released CD entiltled “All Is Fair”. The SongHall was thrilled to have him get in touch to be part of our workshop where he shared his Idol experiences from the inside and discussed his first foray into songwriting.
