SongHall Mourns Executive Director Julius Goldberg

We were greatly saddened to learn of the passing of our Executive Director and good friend Julius Goldberg on March 28th.

Married to President Emeritus Sammy Cahn’s sister Feigy, Jules developed a keen interest in the Songwriters Hall of Fame in its early years, and made use of his extensive background in real estate to assist with aquiring space for the corporate office, and for the first museum at One Times Square in the early 80’s. He dispensed invaluable advice, and participated in varied aspects of the operations of the organization.

“Jules was known for his tremendous commitment to the Songwriters Hall of Fame, along with his humor, warmth and great kindness,” said Hal David, Chairman/CEO of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. “He was an integral part of our Board of Directors, and a beloved friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.”

Jules was 95 years old, and is survived by Feigy, his cherished wife of 68 years, son Ron, daughter Amy, and their families. It is requested that donations be made in his memory to the Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation, 21 Old Westbury Road, Old Westbury, NY 11568, (516) 333-7977.
