SESAC AdVantage Tracking System Announced

SESAC, Inc. announced the launch of the SESAC AdVantage Tracking System, a cutting-edge new methodology for tracking and paying royalties for performances of its musical repertory in commercial advertisements and promotional announcements (ads and promos) on network, cable and local television.
The SESAC AdVantage Tracking System combines data provided by Competitrack, which uses a proprietary fingerprinting technology to track national, regional and local ads, and DigSound (OTC DGSU), which utilizes watermarking technology to track production music used in television programming airing in local markets. The integration of these services will allow SESAC to electronically track actual performances of its repertory in ads and promos and integrate the data into its royalty distribution systems for payment.  This means that SESAC-affiliated composers will no longer have to provide proof-of-performance via media buys, traffic schedules, or station logs in order to receive royalties for these performances.
