During the second in the series of “Meet the Songwriters” seminars on October 25th, guest speaker Peter Zizzo provided tremendous songwriting insight for the eager audience. They listened intently to his experiences with artists Vanessa Carlton, Avril Lavigne and Celine Dion, among many others. He spoke of his creative process that included how he took snippets of ideas from some of the artists he had worked with and created hit songs. One such song turned into “Don’t Save It All For Christmas Day” which became a multi-platinum hit for Celine Dion and Clay Aiken. More songs in his impressive catalog include Celine’s “Love Is On The Way,” Avril’s “Nobody’s Fool” and “Promise Me You’ll Try” with Jennifer Lopez.
“Meet The Songwriters” is an all new series of four sessions with a different established songwriter guest at each one. We will hear their perspective on the industry, the craft of songwriting and how they contributed to the vital force that is contemporary song today! There is a story behind every song and a career path that led each of them to success. What was their first big break? How did they make it happen? How do they approach their songwriting? We will play their songs and discover their process.
