A packed room full of songwriters listened intently as John DeNicola shared the story behind his songs “I’ve Had The Time of My Life” and “Hungry Eyes” featured in the classic movie Dirty Dancing. He discussed the creation of the song and the pitch to the movie company, then played the first demo of the song which featured different lyrics and singers. The magic of the song in that first recording was undeniable! We also learned how the magic of the song found its way to the Black Eyed Peas latest recording.
