After an SRO Networking event on February 3rd for the SongHall, over a hundred music industry executives, songwriters, producers, and artists celebrated the release of author Eric Beall’s The Billboard Guide To Writing and Producing Songs That Sell on Thursday evening, February 5 at the legendary Friars Club in New York. The event was sponsored by the Friars and Shapiro Bernstein, where Beall is the Vice-President of A&R.
The Billboard Guide To Writing and Producing Songs That Sell offers an inside glimpse at what makes a song successful in today’s ultra-competitive environment, through interviews with top industry professionals in the worlds of A&R, Radio and Music Marketing, including Steve Lunt (Atlantic Records), Hosh Gureli (Hosh G, LLC.), David Massey (Mercury Records) and Daniel Glass (Glassnote Records) as well as top songwriters from every genre, like recent Grammy winners Stargate Productions, Darrell Brown, Midi Mafia, and Sharon Vaughn. Beall, the author of the previously released Making Music Make Money, a veteran music executive, and a successful songwriter and producer, shared a few thoughts about the new book with the industry crowd. “Above all, I hope this book will serve to reaffirm the value of what we all do everyday. Hit songs matter more now than ever. As a society, they bind us together, give us a shared culture, and tell us who we are.”
