The Abe Olman scholarship awards and Best of the Songwriters Hall of Fame New Writers Showcase and CD release will take place Monday, June 23 at the Bitter End. The Abe Olman scholarships, named after one of our esteemed founders, have been given out each year, one recipient each chosen by ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, SGA and SHOF. These scholarships are awarded to up-and-coming songwriters who have stepped up to a standard of excellence and deserve to be recognized. The night will begin with the scholarships being given out, after which we will celebrate the release of our Best of the Songwriters Hall of Fame New Writers Showcase CD, Volume 6. The featured writers on this CD have been chosen from the best of the previous years showcases and also includes a song by each of the Abe Olman Scholarship recipients. All of the featured writers will get an award and the opportunity to perform their song from the CD. In addition, the CD will be handed out at the door to the first 100 who attend!
