2007 SESAC Nashville Music Awards

Multi-faceted songwriter Liz Rose was named SESAC’s Country Songwriter of the Year during ceremonies held today at the company’s Music Row Headquarters. On the strength of her hits for Taylor Swift ( “Tim McGraw”, “Teardrops On My Guitar”) as well as her contributions to projects by Lori McKenna (Unglamorous) and Walt Wilkins & the Mystiqueros (Diamonds In The Sun), Rose was on hand to accept the evening’s top honor.

Brian White was also honored for his song “Watching You” which was named SESAC’s Country Song of the Year. The song, a mega-smash hit for Rodney Atkins, held the No.1 spot on the country charts four consecutive weeks.

Hillsboro Valley Songs, Sony/ATV Timber Publishing, the publisher of Liz Rose’s catalogue, was named SESAC’s Country Publisher Of The Year.

In addition to their songwriting honors, SESAC Associate Vice President, Tim Fink, awarded Songwriter Of The Year, Liz Rose, with a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted Master Built acoustic guitar, courtesy of Gibson Guitar.

A highlight of the evening included the presentation of the “Spirit Of SESAC” Award in memory of Americana songwriter/artist, Buck Jones, who tragically died in an accident in March while traveling to perform a show in Texas.
