John Mayer

Hal David Starlight Award

Critically-acclaimed songwriter John Mayer is prone to accomplishment. Over the past five years, he has sold over eight million albums (Room For Squares, Heavier Things) and won three Grammy Awards, including the Grammy for Song of the Year with “Daughters.” In 2005, John formed the John Mayer Trio - a blues & rock-influenced collaboration with legendary studio musicians Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino. The Trio embarked on a nationwide tour of intimate venues followed by the release of the highly-praised live album, TRY! in November ‘05.

At 28, Mayer has already earned the respect of his peers and predecessors alike. He has performed with icons such as Clapton, BB King, Buddy Guy, Herbie Hancock, and John Scofield, and collaborated with contemporaries like Kanye West, Ahmir ?uestlove from The Roots, and Alicia Keys.

John Mayer’s third studio album, aptly titled CONTINUUM, makes good on its name, fulfilling the promise expected from such a musical resume. CONTINUUM will be released in August 2006.
