Amy Lennard - I Wish It Were Mine
Amy Lennard rocks. She puts her heart on the line and sings with conviction about love and life. And speaking of life, Amy has had an interesting one: she grew up in Roslyn, Long Island (NY), and ended up in a commune in northern California, where she was an avid organic gardener, and involved in the Pacific North West roots- music scene. “It was a bit like ‘into the wild, except I made it back. I think that wild side now comes out in my performances,” Amy says.
Her full length album I Need to Love is a strong debut, with a bit of rock and twang the likes of Janis Joplin and Lucinda Williams. Amy’s distinctive vocals are rich and her lyrics are passionate and honest. “I called the album I Need to Love because it’s a pretty powerful insight and awakens many different thoughts and feelings. The idea came to me a few years ago when I was having a hard time, and realized I needed to start taking responsibility for my own happiness.”
Amy is off to the studio to finish recording her latest album due out summer 2010. She is touring and receiving interest from major music labels. She is also shopping her tunes in Nashville, Los Angeles and Europe.
Amy has a gift of presenting her own unique perspective and sharing it in a way that accessible to everyone. This is bound to be a big year for her.
