Evan Lamberg

Evan started his career working for Berry Gordy at Jobete Music (the publishing wing of Motown Records), in March 1988, as a Creative Manager after graduating from New York University with a Bachelors Degree in Music.

He went to work for MCA Music Publishing/New York in June 1990 as Director of Creative Services.  During his time there, he was responsible for working with the entire MCA songwriter roster as well as signing the successful writing and production team of Cory Rooney and Mark Morales who went on to be the force behind Mary J. Blige’s hit “Real Love.”

In March 1991, Evan joined EMI Music Publishing as Creative Director in New York under the mentorship of its then Chairman Martin Bandier. He became Sr. Vice President/Creative in April 1995 overseeing activity for the East Coast.  In 1998, his role expanded to Executive Vice President Creative/North America continuing his creative endeavors and taking on additional corporate responsibilities.  In April 2007, Evan was named Sr. Creative A&R and Music Innovations, North America taking on the task of helping to build EMI Music Publishing’s newly formed Music Innovations Division and dealing in creative and business relationships with such powerhouse corporate entities as Microsoft, Pepsi, the NFL, ESPN, the NHL, Al Gore’s Current TV as well as ad agencies
J Walter Thompson and Grey Advertising.

At EMI, Evan worked with, and signed such artists and songwriters as, Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty, Bad Boy CEO, writer and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jessica Simpson, Ashlee Simpson, Paul Abdul, Jewel, Pink, Jakob Dylan of The Wallflowers, LL Cool J and Regina Spektor. His work with songwriters has led to their songs being recorded by artists such as Celine Dion, Carlos Santana, Faith Hill, Barbara Streisand, Marc Anthony and Rod Stewart.

In 2008, after seventeen years, Evan left EMI Music Publishing and joined Gibson Guitar, Corp. in the capacity of worldwide head of marketing. As Executive VP Operations / Global Entertainment Relations he ran a marketing, talent relations and branding division spanning 13 countries with over one hundred marketing executives and consultants.

In July 2008, while starting his position at Gibson, Evan entered the prestigious Cornell-Queen’s Executive MBA program and graduated in May 2010 earning two MBA’s simultaneously (one from Cornell University in the U.S. and one from Queen’s University in Canada).

In April, 2009, Evan transitioned back into the music publishing business as Executive VP Creative, East Coast for Universal Music Publishing, the largest music publishing company in the world owning a third of the entire global music market. There he has signed and/or worked with such artists as Justin Bieber, Owl City, R. Kelly and 30 Seconds To Mars.

After seven years on its nominating committee Evan, in 2008, was elected to the Board of Directors of The Songwriters Hall of Fame. He also is involved in such organizational charities as the ALS Foundation and Peter Gabriel’s Witness Organization.

Evan, born in Brooklyn, N.Y. resides in New York City with his wife Lisa and their daughter Lola.
